Wastewater treatment facilities pose unique challenges when it comes to lighting – not only do they run with extremely low operating budgets, they also present an incredibly demanding environment full of water, debris, high ambient temperatures and corrosive chemicals. Some areas within a wastewater plant include high concentrations of combustible gases and liquids, such as sulfur dioxide and chlorine, that require lighting classified for hazardous locations.
G&G’s product offering includes highly engineered solutions that are resilient in such environments. The permanently sealed, IP68/68K rated waterproof luminaires are designed with chemical resistant copolymer that protects premium internal LED components from the elements and have been tested for applications where significant vibration is likely.
The HLX series is Class 1, Division 2 and Class 2, Division 2 hazardous locations rated for any applications requiring such classification. This resilience, along with a high ambient temperature rating up to 55ºC (131ºF) and lifetime of 100,000+ hours proves durability in the conditions presented in a wastewater treatment facility.
